Northern Sea of Cortez - Midriff Island Water Temperatures

The Sea of Cortez is a seasonal sea, which means it changes rapidly based on the seasons. Our trips begin in early July where the temperatures are approximately 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit. It increases by about 2 degrees Fahrenheit every week and tops off at about 85 degrees mid-August, and remains there until about mid-September. After mid-September, the temperatures drop an average of 2 degrees Fahrenheit every week.

Northern & Southern Sea of Cortez - Explore Baja Water Temperatures

The Sea of Cortez is a seasonal sea, which means it changes rapidly based on the seasons. Our Explore Baja expeditions begin in mid-September, where the northern temperatures are in the high 70's and low 80's and continues to warm as we travel south. By mid-October, the water cools, and the northern waters can be in the low to mid 70's and low to mid 80's in the south.
